New Science Laboratory Suites
Henley in Arden High School
We have completed several new science laboratory suites in a number of secondary schools and academies. When we were approached by Henley-in-Arden High School, their science department had an ageing facility in need of renovation. The school also required a new dedicated space for teaching Environmental Land Based Science.
We spent some time with the staff finding out how this subject would be taught and getting to grips with how the space would work and what they would require from the building. We also had to prove to the school that the new extension could be extended again in the future when funding would be made available for a further two laboratories.
The finished building will be easily adaptable and ready for further extension when the need arises. The existing laboratories were modernised and reconfigured too, making them better learning environments for the students. By making the new enlarged Prep Room the link between the old and new buildings, we managed to reconfigure the laboratories to be much more efficient for the technical staff moving equipment between different labs.
